Vote on the law authorising the State to take a majority stake in “AIBD SA

The National Assembly unanimously adopted on Tuesday the bill authorising the State to take a majority stake in “AIBD SA”.

This new law will allow the company to “organise and mobilise itself to raise the necessary funds for the construction of the Senegalese air hub”, explained the Minister of Tourism and Air Transport, Alioune Sarr.

“The air hub is one of the pillars of the Emerging Senegalese Plan (PSE), and will enable AIBD to build an aircraft maintenance centre in Senegal, a training centre for civil aviation professions so that Air Senegal can have enough pilots and technicians on board (…)”, the Minister added.

He indicated that the new law brings major innovations with the extension of the missions of the company “AIBD.SA” on all the civil airports of Senegal.

It will also allow the allocation of RDIA products to the financing of development projects of the Senegalese air hub.
